The LIMAB SlabProfiler 3D system measures the dimensions of slabs and heavy plates. The system is suitable in cold or hot applications, for installation before or after the cutter or at the entrance of the reheating furnace. Due to the LIMAB sensor technique the SlabProfiler 3D captures the complete edge profile. The system is modulate giving the possibility to upgrade with length and camber measurement. The SlabProfiler provides instant recognition of out of shape or dimensional problems of slabs and heavy plates. ProfiCura Smart Fit to Circle – Diameter measurements of hot and cold tubes / bars

The LIMAB ProfiCura Smart sensor with the measurement mode “FitToCircle” measures the outer diameter and center position of tubes and bars.

The sensor can be installed in both hot and cold rolling applications. It gives instant feedback to the operators in order to improve product quality and safety, avoiding manual caliper measurements of hot material.

ThicknessProfiler – Measurements of thickness and width of cold strips, slabs and plates

The ThicknessProfiler is a non-contact laser based system for in-line measuring of cold strips, slabs and plates. The system measures thickness and width and is suitable for installation in pickling or slitting lines, quality inspection for cold slabs and heavy plates. A LIMAB non-contact system ensures accurate measurements at high production speed. The system provides users with an invaluable tool for monitoring the process and improve the production yield.

LengthProfiler – Slab, bloom, billet and section laser length measurement

There is no doubt that the best method of measuring length in a caster or steel mill is by using a Doppler gauge. For accurate measurement, the object must pass the laser at the reference distance ±100 mm and for some applications this is not possible. Typically this problem arises on slab casters where there is a large difference between the narrowest and widest slab or wide roller tables where bars are passing and are not in a fixed location but can wander left or right. LIMAB have developed a turn-key solution to solve this measurement application and it is suitable for use on billet/bloom or slab casters or any roller table transporting hot or cold bars. The Doppler is mounted on a servo driven positioning mechanism that automatically tracks the position of the bar placing the Doppler at the optimum distance. The information about the slab position comes from a separate laser distance sensor. The system is protected by a special forced air-cooled housing which keeps the equipment clean and cool.
